Boat Racing

I recently spent a weekend in Orange, Texas at their annual boat racing event.  I photograph two to three events a year and thoroughly enjoy myself.  I attend mainly for two reasons.  One, I use to race boats as a young man between the ages of 12 and 21 and I loved it.  Two, the people involved are some of the finest you will ever meet.  I would never trade that part of my life.  It was just awesome.

Weather conditions were not good Saturday with rain most of the time.  As the rain eased it allowed half of the events scheduled for Saturday to take place.  So there I am in the rain taking pictures and my big concern was my equipment.  At this point I’m going to make a plug.  For the photographers, you don’t want to get your equipment wet.  In order to protect my D4 and 500mm I used http://lenscoat.com/.  It worked great keeping my equipment dry.  Now if I can only find one for my body.

Baseball – Grandson

Well, it’s that time of year again.  Took my grandson for his coach pitch try outs.  I am glad he asked me because I enjoy the heck out of watching him play.  The following pictures are from his last year in T-ball.
