Natures turn…….

One Last Prayer

One Last Prayer – Tuesday afternoon (1/20/15) as the sun was close to setting I caught this image. Did the eagle have a sense of what Wednesday would bring? As she bowed her head and said one last prayer looking at the eaglet.

I stood there thinking how good of parents they are to their young. I also wondered how much longer the nest would last in the dead tree praying they would have time to raise this eaglet to fledge one day. I decided to take and capture a full frame shot with as much tree and nest. I’m glad I did.

News today hit me like a ton of bricks. The Pearland eagle’s nest collapsed Wednesday (1/21/15) and the eaglet was found buried in the debris. It was rescued by U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) and taken to a rehab center for evaluation. Hopefully, it is ok and will be released when matured and ready. We can only hope the parents return to the same area next year.

Update: The eaglet is doing good.  They will be moving the eaglet to be raised by a surrogate.

The only time we know how life will be is in the present. Happy to hear it survived.

Very sad to hear about their nest but glad to hear that the youngster survived. Hope that they come back next year.
